Academics

The Haynes Family of Programs Education Center offers specialized instruction-tracks leading to high school completion and post-secondary and vocational education. The goal of our school is to give students the tools they need to successfully make the transition into the mainstream: work, school, or independent living.

Shunning the one-size-fits-all formula, our curriculum is highly individualized, hands-on, and designed to address the specific needs of each student. Based on their unique learning potential, students are placed on a traditional diploma track, a GED (General Educational Development) track, or in a community-based learning program with a Certificate of Completion.

Our program features a low average student to instructor ration of 5:1. Students can earn credit based on successful mastery of appropriate core curricular content. Grades are based on progress on academic goals from the IEP. School staff, as needed, develops adaptations and modifications to meet educational needs; individual tutoring is available.

The latest teaching pedagogy, best practices, and reinforcement methodologies are employed and assessed on an ongoing basis to endure each student’s success in the following areas:

  • School performance and adjustment
  • Attention and concentration
  • Problem solving
  • Learning skills
  • Social skills
  • Expression of thought and feelings
  • Motivation and goal attainment
  • Academic achievement
  • Communication

To ensure the safety of our students, door-to-door transportation is provided throughout the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties.
